Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of sites do you have available?
    We have sites with 30/50 amps, water, electric & sewer and dry sites (self-contained) that are available as back-in, pull-through, or pull-in. All of our sites have trash pick-up included.
  • Do you offer long-term stays?
    Because we are the closest RV park to historic downtown Savannah, we do not have availability for monthly or long-term stays. The longest stay we allow is a 13-day maximum.
  • What are your rates?
    Our prices range based on the type of site you are looking to stay in and which time of year you are booking for. If you would like a definitive price, you can look on our booking site or give us a call at (912) 272-8028.
  • What types of RVs do you allow?
    We can accommodate motorhomes, 5th wheels, fold-downs/pop-ups, travel trailers, truck campers, and camper vans. There are also no size restrictions, but it is based on availability. We do not allow car camping, you must be in a self-contained RV.
  • What type of camping is allowed?
    We only offer sites for self-contained campers. At this time, we do not offer any car camping.
  • What is included in each site?
    During your stay with us, you will have full access to our salt-water pool, fitness center, lakes, and clean service building with hot showers, toilets, and a coin-operated laundry facility. Each site also has a picnic table and fire pit. You can check out all of our amenities here.
  • When is check in?
    Check-in is at 1 PM. We do request that you try and check in before 6 PM as that is when our front desk closes. If your site is available, you may check-in early for an additional fee.
  • When is check out?
    Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Late check-outs must be approved by the front desk in advance and will require a fee. Before departing, you are not required to let the front desk know. If you have rented any converters from us, please return those items before departing and we will refund the card you used to hold the deposit. NO SHOWS or EARLY DEPARTURES are NOT eligible for a refund.
  • How many vehicles are allowed at my site?
    One personal vehicle and one camping unit are allowed per site. Additional vehicles are $5/day. If you require additional parking spaces, please contact the front desk at (912) 272-8028. Do NOT park on other sites.
  • Do you offer free Wi-Fi to guests?
    Yes. Upon checking in to your site, you will be given a welcome packet with all login information for our Guest Wi-Fi.
  • Do you have satellite-friendly sites?
    We offer satellite-friendly sites as well as partially shaded sites, which are not satellite-friendly. If you want a satellite-friendly site, please make sure to request that during your booking and our front desk will let you know if one is available. If one is not available, we will make our best effort to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee availability.
  • Are generators allowed?
    Generators are allowed, but must be run-quiet, turned off during quiet hours which are between 10 PM and 8 AM, and only allowed in our dry-site locations.
  • Are pets allowed?
    Red Gate Farms is pet friendly! If your pet is staying with you during your stay, please observe the following regulations: All pets must be on a leash. You must clean up after your pet. There are designated pet waste stations located around the property. NEVER leave your pet tied up or unattended outside. Barking and disturbing or aggressive animals are not permitted.
  • What is Good Sam?
    Good Sam is an exclusive RV membership with many benefits.   • Do you offer workamping?
    Yes! You can check out our workamping site here. If you are interested in a workamper opportunity, please submit your resume and a picture of yourself and your RV to Leslie@RedGateCampground.com.
  • Do you have any campers to rent on-site?
    There are no campers to rent through Red Gate Farms. However, there is one camper on-site, Camp Happy Joy, that can be rented through AirBNB. You can also rent an RV through RV Share, Outdoorsy, and RVezy.
  • Do you offer any other lodgings for guests without campers?
    There are no campers to rent through Red Gate Farms. However, we have one camper, Camp Happy Joy, and one 3-bedroom apartment, The Hayloft, on-site for guests to rent. Both lodgings can be booked through Airbnb. Camp Happy Joy The Hayloft
  • What times are the front desk and supply store open?
    Our front desk and supply store hours are 9 AM to 6 PM seven (7) days a week.
  • When are the laundry facilities and showers open?
    The laundry facilities and showers are located in the service building along with our RV front desk and supply store. While our front desk and store are only open from 9 AM to 6 PM, the service building is always open so that the laundry facilities and showers are available 24 hours.
  • How can I book a horse back ride or horse-drawn carriage tour?
    You can book any equine-related activities through the Equestrian Center by either visiting their website or calling them at (912) 239-7855.
  • Is the swimming pool open year-round?
    Our saltwater swimming pool is open year-round and is open from dawn to dusk seven (7) days a week. Even though our pool is open year-round, it is NOT a heated pool.
  • How much are your bike and kayak rentals?
    Our bike rentals are $18.65 for a full day (24-hour period) and our kayaks are $27.99 for a half day (9 AM to 1 PM or 1 PM to 5 PM).
  • Do you have a FREE shuttle service?
    We do NOT offer any FREE shuttle services. Old Town Trolley offers a shuttle from our park to the Historic District which is available to those with a ticket for their tour. Tickets can be purchased at our front desk. With each trolley ticket, you get a 9 AM pick up from the park and a 4 PM drop off back to the park. Old Town Trolley is NOT automatically scheduled to come to the park. You must let the RV Office know by 6 pm the evening before that you want a pickup from the park so we can coordinate with the tour guides.
  • What is the Old Town Trolley Tour?
    Old Town Trolley Tours is Savannah's best hop-on, hop-off all-day tour. They provide sightseeing tours highlighting the best attractions in Savannah. Each ticket includes one full day of unlimited re-boarding at 15 convenient stops. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk. With each trolley ticket, you get a 9 AM pick up from the park and a 4 PM drop off back to the park. Old Town Trolley is NOT automatically scheduled to come to the park. You must let the RV Office know by 6 pm the evening before that you want a pickup from the park so we can coordinate with the tour guides.
  • How close is Red Gate Farms to Savannah's Downtown Historic District?
    We are six miles, approximately 10 minutes, from historic downtown Savannah, Georgia.
  • How close is Red Gate Farms to Tybee Island Beach?
    Red Gate Farms is 20 miles, approximately 35 minutes, from Tybee Island, Georgia.
